dodger 2,765
Not a suprise. The rest to follow as well. Ritchie included hopefully (and Robshaw) Ritchie did appoint Lancaster afterall. It's all Sam Burgess' fault anyway. Was he pushed or did he fall on his sword ?? He comes across as a decent man, I think he'd probably had enough as well and said thanks alot, but i'm off. Bring on Jim Mallinder........... ........Or as a complete outsider. Dean Richards. sam burgess is class they just didn't give him enough time n guidance before righting him off.. He may be class at the sissies game of touch rugby, but could not hack it at the proper rugby game. He has gone back to rugby league. TC

dodger 2,765
He excels when he's busy not when he's only gettin chance of the ball just a few times a game, it's a very different game he needed more time to prove himself and be given the chance to shine and being played in the right position would've helped, also why did lancaster pick him if he didn't think he was up to it.. As for being a quitter people can't really say that about a man unless they know that for a fact or know him personally, he's had his reasons for going back to the NFL and a game he knows he excels at while still young plus a few personal reasons, best of luck to him I like him.. Tiercel 6,986
Like many R/L converts before him, he found that the Union game is a lot more complicated and demanding on the body than it seems. When in league a player is tackled the defence or attack has a couple of seconds to reset, while the tackled player does a break dance first before he rucks the ball back. No such luxury with union it is an ongoing attack / defence that has to react to the moment. Far more demanding IMHO. You usually find that the players who do make the crossover between union and league have had a good grounding in union first. BTW Nothing personal against Burgess just saying it as I see it. dodger 2,765
Like you say it's your opinion and I respect that as for me I can see it from both sides.. There is a split and an air of snobbery between the two games tho, Even from a league point of view I was brought up with the mentality that league was the only game of the two worth playing and watching so never really botherd with union much unless international but did enjoy this union World Cup a lot and will be making more of an effort to watch the union game now il hopefully be in Tokyo for 2019 aswell reckon that will be a real good do..
