Like many R/L converts before him, he found that the Union game is a lot more complicated and demanding on the body than it seems. When in league a player is tackled the defence or attack has a couple of seconds to reset, while the tackled player does a break dance first before he rucks the ball back. No such luxury with union it is an ongoing attack / defence that has to react to the moment. Far more demanding IMHO. You usually find that the players who do make the crossover between union and league have had a good grounding in union first.

BTW Nothing personal against Burgess just saying it as I see it.

scott quinell doesnt agree with you ,he says on his wiki page hardest game he ever played was for wales rl against western samoa
He said it was the hardest game he played in, not hardest code.

You can't really compare both games imo though I do find players adapt to league from union better than the other way around.

No matter how long you live in Wales you will always be English ......

Coming from a Welshman living in England !

Oi piss off back to your football thread with your mate max and leave the grown ups talk about a real mans game ?

I'm disappointed with burges ,,my opinion is he changed codes just to get in to this world cup squad,,, and now he's fecked back off to,,, as tc puts it,,, touch rugby,,lol..

tbh i know shit about rugby but isnt union designed to give the fatter men a run out. From youtube vids league looks a very competitive athletic sport always on the move. Ive never seen a live union game but i have league and all them guys were 6ft plus and really motor add that to the fact they actually look like atheltes not professional pie eaters. Maybe its cos i cant grasp the union rules thats doing my nutt in.

Johnny remember Iestyn Harris he was going to be our saviour in the dark old days when we could not even beat England. He just could not grasp the game.

Do you mean last February or the March before that? :whistling:

Oh yes forgot about those. those are the only times you have won out of the last six meetings. :D

Juggling figures TC? You should be a government spin doctor.

Yes, it is the only 2 times England have beaten Wales out of our last 6 matches, OR....you could say it's 2 times out of our last 3 matches.

Guess which I prefer?

The reason some league players may struggle is the million stupid rules, unions gone crap the person who decidws the game is the referee and how he interprets the laws. Also ive played both codes and league is more physically demanding imo as the games a lot faster and flowing.
