Tiercel 6,986
There was a thread on here earlier in the year about a Swansea woman with motor neuron disease who's daughters were doing a fund raiser to get enough money to grant her mother wish to go to Dignitas in Switzerland. The police stepped in and told her it was illegal and there would be repercussions if they went ahead with the fund raiser, after people complained about the fund raiser. Well I don't know how but the mother made it to Dignitas and has now passed away. http://www.llanellistar.co.uk/Llanelli-woman-travels-Dignitas-mum/story-28141380-detail/story.html My thoughts are good for her. and well done her children for not giving in and helping their mother. What are your thoughts? TC

JDHUNTING 1,817
Dont agree with it, some people may feel a burden on others and feel they should offer to off themselves.
smithie 2,443
when it's time I'd like to have the choice. no point in living 10 years in a chair with my hands turned in and my head nodding like its on a spring getting spoon fed by some fat bird who don't care less if I finished the spoon full before I should have the right to clock out on life when there is no quality of life Edited November 11, 2015 by smithie

Guest foxpack
My mother has severe m.s.she was 1 of the top managers in local superstore.Very bubbly also very intelligent.now 20 years later she is confined to a bed .Has no control over muscles in legs and arms.Has both bags on to.She is severely depressed 90% of the time .although she can hide it at times. She did mention Switzerland once and got very mixed views of family members.Very hard decision to make .But when you see them full of life and happiness.then bang .life is flipped over .you can see why people opt for assisted suicide.
fireman 10,917
If anyone i love was wanting to go i'd help them no problem,if they needed to go in a peacefull painless way,to fcuk with what the law says i'd do whats right for my loved one and time may well be spent inside for doing it but i'd sleep better knowing that's what they wanted rather than there hear because folk are to selffish to let them go.... Me i have mates who'd help me if i were incapable of doing it to myself but i'd do it myself if there was no hope and let the time i'd spend in pain and waiting to die be healing time for my family and friends,
