Right I'm a sparky and on a kitchen contract my apprentice cut the wrong cable and electrics went off ! Hour and half later the tenants son came flying down the starts screaming shouting call us useless b*****ds and a few other choice words because his Xbox went off we couldn't see him because I had put a dust sheet against the door I think if he did come into the room it would of all kicked off this bloke is 30 lives with his parents and is about 6,5 huge guy poor apprentice shit himself i said f**k this grab our tools and walked out ! I work for a housing association not a contractor iv point blank refused to go back in don't come to work to be spoken to like that and not working in a house where we feel threatened ! Spent the mornin arguing with my boss to put two the other boys in there the bloke hasn't got a problem with them just me and the kid! Any think I'm wrong for refusing to go back in? Blackbriar 8,569
No ! You have the right to work in peace, free from threats or violence. Every doctors surgery, council office, hospital etc has notices warning of this - I believe this right extends to everyone. While I can (maybe) understand him being annoyed, he owes you an apology.
