rob284 1,682
Get it steam cleaned underneath then underseal or old oil will do the trick. Dont forget to plate up all the holes before you paint it.

budgie123 163
Wax oil would possibly be better as it has a rust inhibiter in it stopping rust developing further.
Joe1888 672
the problem is they rot from the inside out.. shot blasted and a good rust eater then underseal would be decent.. try treat the inside if you can, ive been playing with the idea of old engine oil, abit messy lol

PeskyWabbits 464
I would get it as clean as you can and maintain that until we are back to dry weather. You don't want to trap moisture. Waxoyling is best done late Summer, when it is runny enough, but not too much and the vehicle is dry. Use a compressor and two guns, one with a flexible extension for cavities and one with a medium spry nozzle. Two guns because you will be messy enough without trying to swap nozzles. I wouldn't use old oil as it doesn't really last long term and it can have contaminants. There are quite a few good wax products, shop around as they can be quite expensive. Autojumbles and car shows are often the cheapest. It might be worth getting a Halfords Trade Card - speak to the manager of your local and take a few motor factor receipts with you. You get about 50% off car batteries, 30% off Halfords branded tools etc
