Westyorkshire_lad 402
Just was think may be over thinking lol but a lot of lads are using thick big heavy collars on they running dogs, surely that wouldn't benefit the running and striking prey? Don't get me wrong not saying anyone's wrong I have used them my self when I was in the terrier game but surely a light weight thin collar would be more beneficial ? Quote Link to post
Somewhereyournot 1,117
This is mad, this week Iv swapped my lamping collar to a thin lightweight one yet to see the benefits but already on the ball he looks quicker getting down etc, Quote Link to post

haymin 2,465
lol where can you get these thick collers from?? Quote Link to post
King. 215
If a dog got caught up on a branch or fence barb wire by the collar I would rather he had a wide collar on rather than a thin 1. Or if something with teeth grabbed him by the neck the wide collar would offer some protection. Edited November 9, 2015 by King. 1 Quote Link to post
jcm 2,327
My strong stuff collar has protected dogs neck a few times 1 Quote Link to post
Westyorkshire_lad 402
Maybe on teeth I can understand but lads using big collars on dogs for rabbits I don't get each to they own i suppose. Quote Link to post
scottish lurcher 185
I Never use collars as I once seen a dog get its neck ripped wide ,open due to a sharp branch getting caught under collar .dog was lucky it didn't die but everyone had there own idea about working with or without them .
