waltjnr 6,747
good pics Dc,your river seems more classic barbel river than where im fishing ,i even have silty stretchs on my river and they do feed on it ,at first i avoided and stuck to faster flowing gravel stretches ,but have recently tried the silt and it does produce !Is this normal for barbel or have they just adapted to what is available? Also what are your views on barbel in stillwaters?my boss just come back from a weekend at westwood lakes lincolnshire, and happy hed caught barbel out of the lakes ,i said far better from a river ! steve66 3,448
Ive fished afew comercials lately , more like hook a duck, barbel and chub belong in the river , where they can thrive and breed natualy 3 Quote Link to post
Daniel cain 45,270
The ones I've caught from lakes I kindly put back into running water ;)the river I fish is slow unless carrying extra water, but the bottom is a mix of deep holes in bedrock, gravel and weed,silt/sand I catch from them all-depends on time of year, water conditions, time of day .if you hit it at the right time you will have some sport imo.atb dc 3 Quote Link to post
