DogFox123 1,379
You are right enough mate the pat would add some nice blood to a lurcher. Finding a dead game apbt would be a lot harder than finding a proven pat. Unless you knew boys working apbt proper. Finding a dead game APBT could be tricky as it would be, err....... Dead. 1 Quote Link to post
Accip74 7,112
There was a cracking example of this cross on here a year or so ago, a chocolate coloured pup I seem to remember........nice looking dog, be interesting to know how it turned out..... 1 Quote Link to post
Guest Navek
Also bulldog is a term like sheepdog is! It's a job title not a breed...look back to bull baiting depictions and tell me how many dogs there resemble what you'd class as a bulldog! to true Quote Link to post
DogFox123 1,379
I don't see the point in this cross, basically you'd be getting a smaller, weaker jawed yapping Bull X. I'm guessing it would be a foxing dog, what's wrong with a Bull X? 1 Quote Link to post

Oh but I think I do, I think you need to go read up on what it means. A Bulldog that doesn't quit is classed as a game dog, not a dead game dog. Quote Link to post

A Bulldog that doesn't quit is classed as a game dog, not a dead game dog. have a read of this dogfox .....Those involved in dog fighting consider the American pit bull the only game dog, and some even refer to the breed by the name American Game Dog. In their eyes, the term game refers to the innate desire of one dog to cross a pit in order to destroy another dog, despite pain, exhaustion or injury. The ultimate goal of those who breed fighting dogs is a "dead game" dog, meaning an animal which will, while in the heat of battle, continue to struggle toward its opponent when called upon to cross the pit while dying of heat exhaustion, in shock, with broken legs, internal injuries, crushed nasal cavities or other conditions which cause its death in the pit or within a few hours after the fight. Thanks for the write up but you're telling me stuff I already know, a dog isn't called a dead game dog until it has died on the job. Of course a dead game dog could have been bred before it met its fate. Quote Link to post

Guest Navek
Always going to be a two sided coin as to what dead game means and to me dead game should always be used after the word "was " Eg......he "was " dead game To me a dog that proves to be dead game is a bulldog that dies doing what it was bred to do..preferring to die than to turn away/quit/turn cold.. There are also people who say a dead game dog is a dog that would fight until it dies if given the chance... But how do they realy no.... They don't unles it does..a lot can happen in a second..and it only takes a second to turn cur Quote Link to post

King. 215
To have pups from parents that turned out to be dead game is a lot more desirable than having pups from parents that haven't proved to be dead game.when people are betting huge sums of money on the outcome of a fight.having a line of DEAD.dead game dogs is the ultimate goal. Don't mean to sound a arse but you are getting your terms mixed up mate. I wouldn't mind finding a line of dead game dogs, like looking for rocking horse shit.... Impossible.
