Alright people, Why does everybody make out that greys are so fragile, feck me they're not made of glass, surely there's bound to be good solid stock out there, and as for lacking wind, where does that come from? They're the top running dog and ain't gona be bettered for speed.

An interesting topic...   Personaly,...I think that fragile,.is the wrong word to describe a well made Greyhound...   I remember seeing my first Greyhounds at a hare coursing meeting in the Cotswo

Raced greyhounds for over 20 year and grafted quite a few when they finished on track never had a problem with any of them couple of knocked up toes etc but they get that on track as well.

Most people, especially on here, base their opinions on ex track dogs. f**k all wrong with most greyhounds

I think you answered your question at the end of your question, the shear speed they travel at and when they hit something that's why they may appear fragile.

Most dogs given the opportunity as youngsters, and experience, will learn how to use their speed in accordance, not all granted, and it's not just inexperienced greyhounds that don't learn. Had a collie/grey x deer/grey bitch, that had it all, height, power, terrifically fast, but just didn't seem to want to run anything other than flat out!

lololol, it just seems to do them a disservice by making them out like they are good for nothing, how boring would the lurcher world be without the greyhound,
