New Stopnet

Count every 85 meshes per 5 yard of running line will give you 100% bagging.

Eg if you had 17o meshes long it would make a 10 yard stop net with 100% bagging ..

Navek, the OP didnt give the full mesh size of his net,, so 85 mesh may not be an accurate answer

I made it with a 2.25 mesh board n just kept knitting till i got to 15 ft on the orange then doubled up with the red, yesterday when we were using it there seem to be loads of bagging on it ferretingman said he preferred it with bagging like that the more bagging the better, the net is good just the poles cheers lads atb ruggers

80 meshes to 5yds 100% bagging in that case using 2.25 mesh board. I myself use 2.25mb and put 100 meshes onto 5yds of line and a deep selvedge

In stead of making another why dont you extend that net to double or even treble the length?

You've started the net and rightly wanted to try it out, happens to us all carry on with it and it will pay dividends in the long run (pun :icon_eek: )

Good Luck

long nets/stopnets I make them 131/2" meshes deep and add a bottom selvedge and a deeper top selvedge, a selvedge improves the net by turning the net from knitted from one end the other to hang from top to bottom improving the bag

Thats a add-on like added amesh on a purse net ?? Thats what i think lol

Nope, good try though.

I will give you a clue. In the middle of your net stretch it out from top to bottom then count the rows there will be 35 rows which equals 17.5 meshes.
