Guest world.hunters
past week we have been out a few more times had a few more rabbits and storm and brackon retrieved 2 foxes together. then went ferreting today with rew and his dad to ferret a few sets but for some reason we didnt have many bolts although the signs were all there, we then spotted a stoat on the same fields as us so he must of beat us to them lol. had one kill with the ferrets and had a bolt that storm caught. bolted a few more after but they were on opposite side of the fence and hedge row so they will be there for next time. heres a couple photos. my favourite is the last one. Guest world.hunters
weather has been total shite just lately, nice weather during day then alot of frost and fog at night, i decided to just go for a daytime mooch. took ferrets only bolted a couple but they were on other side of fence, then bolted a stoat out of the same hole rabbit had just escaped from. storm then took off after a "big rabbit" that was on the other side of the field next to the hedge row. i just had him working off lead all day as i wasnt getting much sport of the rabbits. on the way home he lifted another big rabbit and was twisting and turning it all over the place doing very well to keep it from the hedge row, and there i was running across a field shouting getttttttt onnnnnnn laddddd i was abity gutted as i had forgoten to bring my big lens so had no chance of getting any photos with the small lens. heres a couple more photos and storm and of my ferrets and hutch. they love the crates and the phesents. Guest world.hunters
Went out and did abit of ferreting on sunday. rew has secured abit of permission which is growing and provided a good bit of sport. rew took his jill and i took my jill hob and sir storm. rews jill has come into season so she wasnt on her game so we put her in box after a while and just worked my hob and jill. they soon got the hang of things and we had a cracking day out, its good to have a good days ferreting with them before i leave for the countryside . in total we had 13 rabbits at the end of the day and me and rews dad had a nice couple digs. i started digging one got to about 3 foot and it moved the feker. but i love digging and the whole day was top. also had a nice bolt for the dog to run which he caught easily. we also bolted a couple babies which we caught and let free at end of day. heres a few pics and a short video of storm catching a rabbit on the last ferreting trip VIDEO A Few Photos from REW W.h Edited February 18, 2008 by world.hunters Quote Link to post
