mad4it 694
sounds like your frontera needs a service, and yes some times the egr will stop it from starting but to me sounds like a air leak.

But also had problems with the egr valve which I never got the bottom of.

Floyd17586 454
Was told because my egr is electronic this would be the equivalent of the plate
RossM 8,119
Has anyone ever used a blank simulater which is a wire that blanks out the electronic egr If technically minded, remove egr valve and make a blanking plate from a juice can, is there any warning lights on? If not it will be a mechanical error where the ecu can't record, or doesn't see a fault, I'd replace the fuel filter in first instance and take it from there
Floyd17586 454
Had egr cleaned and checked and its the egg that needs replacing but it's an electric egg so hopefully just have to buy the blank simulater and should be problem solved
