Rez 4,961
Managed a day on the birds today, real nice too it was. I set out at like 10.30 this morning, got through a whole new tin of H&N FTT's Im trying out, luckily took two tins and didn't get back to just one 5, via a trip to the chinkehh and the off license of course as I was in the dog house with the mrs for being out so long. Before I left took a picture of half of one side of my permission over near a RAF base. There was a proper smart fog rolling in and the sun had just gone down. Anyway, I managed 5 birds, only showing 3 here but it was one of those good days out with the little 99. Should of had 2-3 tree rats but I pushed my confidence to far with the rifle and was taking on shots that were never gonna happen. Threading through more twigs than almost possible. Noticed a few rabbits, bumped into a deer and about got rapped by an owl that didn't take fancy to me being around. Using a little Hawke Sport HD at the minute too, for what a epic little scope it is, its still not right... I shall continue the search. 9 Quote Link to post

jocky 198
Nice one rez. But why do you need two tins of pellets. Quote Link to post
paulk73 151
I had one of the earlier model of 99s. Without the chuequring on. I loved that little rifle, and I also think the earlier stock, although plainer looked better 1 Quote Link to post

Now, naturally the thought of a new stock has passed my mind but I don't know why, that simple low profile stock is one half, obviously, that the makes the 99 nice as just a walk around set up. If I dropped a big old cheek piece and so on onto it, I might as well have a 95 or 98... Of which I think I'm building to again. 98, v'd, shorterened barrel, UNF and in .22 Quote Link to post
