Lab 10,979
The folk who own the estate I may be going to, already know I come with running dogs and that I work them, and have not said it's a problem thus far. . . . there is however a shoot on the estate (30/40,000 birds) but apparently the keeper is a sound bloke. . . . . We shall see. . . . by end of tomorrow I will know one way or another! Does the keeper know there's a poaching b*****d heading his way??...? Sounds like you might have landed your ideal job mate....go for it. You know you'll regret it with a head full of 'what ifs' if you don't...Atb..??
Ideation 8,216
Aye. . . . still waiting I'm sure i'll know tomorrow one way or another. If its on the cards, i'm taking it
WILF 46,811
It's OK there now as Bo Duke has moved away so the area is much less chav !
Ideation 8,216
I'm sure i'll be ok. Was stood weighing the lambs the other day, and although I know its quite 'populated' I didn't see a soul, hidden away in the middle of the estate as I was, just me, two collies, 1500 lambs, and a few hares and roe that were knocking about the fields below me. . . . . . when I get down there (if I get it) i'll introduce myself properly to the keeper and the local huntsman and go from there . . . . . . . leegreen 2,173
Good amount of venison depending on where you are. There are still plenty of bunnies in the right areas and 20 years ago there were a fair amount of Hares. As said the ground can be crippling. Hampshire is a big place and there will be good hunting. Neal 1,867
Good luck! P.S. Bo Duke re the accent: somebody told me that the reason the Portsmouth accent is so different to the normal 'ampshire accent is because so may people moved down from the East End to get jobs in the underwear industry which used to be big in Portsmouth (pardon the pun). Apparently, Madonna's cone bra outfits were made there too. On a different note, when I went to art college in Falmouth and told somebody I came from near Pompey she said, "You don't look Italian."
