fireman 10,919
It's demodectic mange caused by a mite and usualy happens when a dog has suffered a mayor misshap as all the dogs i've ever known to suffer from it had been either run over or had parvo or distemper first this was a good few years back now and, the only thing i ever saw that did get rid of it was alugan but that was banned also years ago.A weekly bath was needed and the poor dogs were driven mad by it but it's a mite they have all the time but is kept under control by the dogs own immune system and when this suffers is can rear it's very ugly head... 2 Quote Link to post
crazydave 185
What I have read about it say that as a puppy some time the immune has not learn to fight it yet some time it is better leaving it to see if it can fight it it self. If you kill the mites it will not get the anti body's it shelf to fight it? Quote Link to post

Most folk on here know i've lived a hippy travelling life(for ease sake i'll call it that) and i used to dip all the site dogs when i did my own dogs (lurchers and terriers) and it kept many a dog clean from itchy scratchy things and your bloody right it was BRILLIANT fatman Quote Link to post
painter 24
Aludex vet prescribed 50 ml bottle.ratio for demodex is 10 ml to one litre of water repeated every seven days. This does the job even the worst cases, whilst I've heard of some vets having the dog in to do it,my own vet dispenses it to me to use at home, make sure you wear gloves.
