WhiteN 15
2002 Honda Crv , rotating knocking noise from I believe to be the rear. Have changed rear diff fluid, now thinking discs, pads and calipers. However there is no shuddering on the brake pedal so not sure if this is the cause. It only happens when braking at low speed eg. 20mph and below, anyone experienced the same or any thoughts?
walshie 2,804
Have you checked the wheel's bolted on tight?
WhiteN 15
Torqued to manufacturers recommendations.
walshie 2,804
Fair enough.
WhiteN 15
I was hoping it was something simple as that but will have to investigate or just splash cash and see if changing the brake components does the trick.
walshie 2,804
Also worth checking the wheel bearings i reckon.
WhiteN 15
Not thought of that , is it easy to check, what should or shouldn't I be able to see/do? Cheers for the replys
Joe1888 672
this noise? Edited October 31, 2015 by Joe1888
WhiteN 15
Good video that but not that noise , its a knocking noise under braking at low speed.
walshie 2,804
To check if it's wheel bearing, jack the car up and wiggle the wheel in all directions to see if there's any play.
treecreeper 1,136
Possibly trailing arm bushes the rubber perishes over time.
3175darren 1,100
Brake Discs warped, cheap enough to do and rule out but very likely, due to the shudder on the pedal Edited November 1, 2015 by 3175darren
WhiteN 15
My thoughts were also discs but there isn't any shuddering on pedal. Will check trailing arm bushes and bearings when I get it jacked up.
neil82 1,076
if it is the trailing arm bushes try the rover ones, they fit most honda`s (not available from Honda, only complete arm)
walshie 2,804
Could be something as simple as the pads moving in the calipers if a pin broke or fell out.
