I just had a litter of these and I got one with a white eye. Is that very common?

Well you can tell just off the pic mate it's not a deerhoundxgreyhound,it's a colliex

There may be a sliver of collie and a sliver of bull in there but not anywhere close up. It's almost entirely deer x grey for generations. It'll make for an interesting dog though. This one is a little different from the others. Their only 4 1/2 week old so I can't say if it will be good or bad but he is one to watch. There aren't more than a handful of people in the USA that mess with crossing collie into their dogs because it doesn't do much for running coyotes. Most of the stags here are just big, fast, killers. This line has a mane from the base of their skull to their tail also, which isn't all that evident at this age.

The colours look collie colours mate but it's a cross either way and you couldn't tell at that age there is any deerhound blood in it.as it says deerhound greyhounds mate not cross bred pups mate.

Your right, stags over here are primarily thought of as deerhound/greyhound crosses but have been bred for quite some time without pure deerhound being put back in. occasionally someone will put a little greyhound in from the track blood to boost the speed back up but that doesn't even happen very often...more than the deerhound though. There are some lines of stags here that look remarkably close to pure deerhounds as they have bred towards that type. Here's a picture of the coat on that pup.

...and a different one of the sire for reference.

I think it's still possible that pups eyes could darken maybe? It'll be a striking looker anyway.
