BGD 6,436
WHYBecause he's an innocent UK citizen? Why shouldn't he be released and allowed to return home? He's been imprisoned for 13 years facing torture and horrific conditions and they still couldn't find anything to pin on him, it's disgraceful that it's taken this long to free him. stealthy1 3,964
His kids are 13 years older than when they took him in. What about the black lad that's just done 28 years for a murder he didn't commit, and another guy was doing time for the same murder at the same time, some hard justice around lately. Saw that on the news last night I think. Real bad do for the guy been banged up 28 years while some other c**t is serving time for the same murder! Don't understand how that can even happen
shepp 2,285
Why should we take responsibility for a Saudi National?
BGD 6,436
Why should we take responsibility for a Saudi National? Because he's a British citizen. Don't really see how we're "taking responsibility" for him either? He has the right to live here with his wife so that's what he's going to do, don't see how that's the state "taking responsiblity" for him. If they were taking responsibility for him you'd think they would of got him out in less than 13 fecking years! Edited October 30, 2015 by BGD
shepp 2,285
Why should we take responsibility for a Saudi National? Because he's a British citizen. No he's a British resident and a Saudi citizen. If a British citizen living in Saudi was in the same situation, do you think Saudi would take responsibility for that British person.

Can you explain exactly how the British government are taking responsibility for him? All they're doing is allowing him to return, which legally they have to do because he's a British resident with the right to a family life. I'm sure if a British citizen with a Saudi family and indefinite right to stay in Saudi Arabia was released from Gitmo they'd also allow him to return home. green lurchers 16,729
are we talking about the same guy who took his family to Afghanistan just after 9/11 to be closer to his mates I mean to be charitable ?
shepp 2,285
Unfortunately I can see his tax funded parasitic, fifth columnist legal team taking us for millions, that will be us taking responsibility. Add that to the cost of his family to the tax payers, his future benefits until he gets his winnings. Much like with this guy. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3267074/UK-gave-freed-Guantanamo-inmate-1million-compensation-s-fled-Syria-joined-ISIS.html
BGD 6,436
Paying him compensation would be taking responsibility for our part in detaining and torturing an innocent man for 13 years. Who do you think should take responsibility for that?

Let's put this in perspective After one of the biggest terrorist attrocities in the western world 9/11 and the military build up in Afghanistan, the country is being scoured for Osama Bin Laden this guy says over his toast to his wife "I've got a great idea, I will leave my kids and you my heavily pregnant wife and go and build a few wells in the most hostile area of Afghanistan" Yeah I can see that
