Recommended Posts

Having a litter on at the moment that are 6 weeks old in a few days, I now need to pick the bitch I'm keeping, it's a tough one as there all beauty's but I can only have one... So now need to pick my pup it's certainly not easy!

What does everyone look for when picking a pup? Everyone's different i guess with there preference, I tend to over think everything and can't make a choice! I've narrowed it down to these two little sods.. D65E97B3-7036-4CA6-B9C9-16980F8D9443_zps

If I've bred myself I just keep what no one else wants,of my current dogs, lad gave me Boots as it hadn't been sold,Don dog my mate just chose it out of the litter and shipped him over from Ireland, the

Roybo: the sire is owned by a friend who's had his line 30+ years so I've seen other dogs from it and they all do well and have a nice temperament too, well dodger I've always said from day one I like

True that. I've always put far too much thought into picking pups.   My first running dog was a saluki/whippet/greyhound bred from 2 local (preban) hare dogs. I wanted to pick a bold, confident pup

I found it hard picking when I had a litter TBH,in the end I picked the one with the average temperament, not too laid back ,not too boisterous. But unless you've bred from a line for a few generations there's no way of really knowing what they end up like. Let the family pick, they all look smashing

My advise would be to go with your first gut instinct and the one that's picked you and if you've changed your mind on others since then go back to that first gut instinct, I'm happy with the pup I kept from my litter she's doing ok but i havnt bonded with her as much as I'd of liked and in my heart I know I let the one that was meant for me go due to me humming and harring to much and confusing myself and Iv regretted thought about and missed him ever since, best of luck..

That be the one to go for then, as many forward/bold pups remain like it as adults and can be a bit too much. As roy said, you don't really want a pup that is too full of itself that it makes training etc more difficult than it should be. And, that is a nice looking pup lol

I think I'll have to have this one.. If I seen her a year from now and she turned into a beauty I'd be sick..!
