BGD 6,436
Microchipping isn't required by law in the UK yet, comes in next year I think. When it does it'll probably be about as enforced as the current tag law, I can't see the police roaming the streets with chip scanners
Ideation 8,216
Tags make a lot of sense! Or something writen / sown onto the collar. I just managed to intercept my bitch on route to fecking Manchester a while back. Out in the woods and she was on the way back from a run, bumped into a couple, who grabbed her assuming she was lost. . . . . they were going to take her home to their local vets (in Manchester) as they were on holiday. . . . . . I may have been lucky and got a call and had to go collect her. . . . . or maybe not. If shed had a tag on, they would have rung me. Luckily I got to the car park before they did. As for folk saying OH NO. . . . they will know its your dog. Man the hell up and stand by your dog. Its a gutless wonder that legs it in the opposite direction and leaves the dog to get f****d.
neems 2,406
You hope, like I said when people see a marked up dog they assume one of two or three things. Dog fighting, Badger baiting or the mythical "Bait dog" bullshit i don't think the vast majority of the general public think like that at all,my lurcher's covered in scars from an accident he had this summer. He got out last month (over a 7 foot fence when I went to get his food),luckily he has a tag with our address and number. half an hour later an old man came brought him back to the house, minus all the skin on his feet. If he'd gone to a 'rescue' (which he would have if not for the tag) especially the RSPCA it would've been a different story.
