jok 3,341
Well at least we have sloes which with the horesradish makes our life a litlle better that yours. Nice filet beef steak with horseradish and a glass or two of sloe gin. joking apart, we have had a great season with the fruit. Lot of the lads going for it now that they've been mentored. Wish I could be back there again. One of the the most memorable trips on the bike.

skycat 6,174
The two people I know who have made their own horseradish sauce always grate it outside on a breezy day: to carry the lethal stink away as quickly as possible.
walshie 2,804
It's only taken you 20 years to try to find a better way? You must be semi-immune to it by now. Try rubbing grated horseradish directly into your eye every day for a week before you make another batch to build up your immunity. Hope this helps.

jok 3,341
Well. Now that everything has settled down, I have an other problem. Not one of you guys has come up with a foolproof idea other than get my better half to make it. The Tw-ts down the pub want more......and now. Cheers for all your support. Just as an extra, some clown suggested something he had had whilst on holiday as a strarter for his evening meal. Parsnip an apple soup. That kind of took the wind out of my sails but hey ho. I made some this morning and it's blinking lovely. (made it in one of the newish soup making kettle type things). Have a go guys. Impress her indoors.
