mark williams 7,563
You really like the Raider don`t you Mac. Is the Raider on a par with the 100 for accuracy? When i looked at the Excaliber i thought mmmmmm a Raider with a nice coat on. By the way Mac if Viz`s mate is still selling his Excaliber - then i would be interested at the correct price . atb 1 Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
You have been here before Mac, and you sold the Raider because the 100 was better, so I'd sell the 100 and learn to live with a lesser rifle this time. 3 Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,821
Theres just some thing about the raider mate and its as good or even better than the hw100 my hunting posts have shown this time and time again had a little plinking sesh yesterday morning and must have put about 20 pellets in the same hole out to 30 yards iv not been out hunting with this one yet but early signs are good im out to night with her if this rain holds off ill let vis no bud i was even thinking of giving the hole thing up mate as my health and eyes are not that good at the moment atvbmac  Quote Link to post

Stealthy as you no mate iv had some of the best money can buy but them raiders imo take some beating Or i could just sell every thing up and sit back with my feet up on them cold and wet nights lol still thinking of doing that to atvbmac  Quote Link to post

random 659
Seriously though,I've owned a Birmingham made raider, now have a hw100t,as much as I myself liked the raider and had many good outings with it making kills at respectable ranges and filling my bag over and over I would not rather own that out of the two, only you can decide so have a good think before you do anything, you more than anyone on here know what it's like to chase that perfect rifle and it must be becoming an expensive hobby!! random 659
As to selling up and becoming an armchair hunter? No way! I've had periods with no rifle and won't do it again, have at least a simple set up for the odd outing or plinking session because you won't ever walk away, trust me!! 1 Quote Link to post
Rez 4,961
The man has some minerals. It was always gonna be this way. How do you find the accuracy of the raider? Im guessing its just as good. Which doesn't surprise me. We do bang on about the 100, as we all know, but all 'decent' PCP's stick the lead in the half inch at 30 yards, perfectly expectable. mark williams 7,563
When i was younger night shooting with a motorbike battery for power was - well - different but great fun. Then in my 20/30`s a nice fire and "good wire" took the place of that poxy battery shite. Then in my 30`s/ 40`s good wire, a nice fire and learning my land a lot better than i ever did kicked in. Now 50`s + is here, - bollocks to 3am in the morning, i love to learn what`s going on, get out there and watch and learn (for a month )ha! ha! Just be out there Mac, " .22 -You can miss as much as you want " but take the Jim Shokeye sticks with the MA-cwatt level,- you`ll see. 1 Quote Link to post
villaman 9,982
What are you going to do if you do give up ?, just dont sell your gear yet, take a break for a few months and see how it goes I think we all go through a the itchy feet syndrome some time in our shooting life but at the end of the day ,you just cant beat shooting and good for the mind and health as well 3 Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Shooting is no different to any other past time, if you hammer it, you will get bored, do a bit more with the family for a while. I found that if I was out lamping all the time I found it hard to fit other things into to my daytime. You only have so much energy, and once it's spent, it's spent. 3 Quote Link to post
