VWman 232
I have just had a quick look on the uttings scope pages and the only one's that I can see that have the same spec as VM's Hawke recommendation are some more Hawkes and a Nikon Pro staff at £479 which is more than I want to pay and then the one that had court my eye before which is the MTC Genessis 5-20x50at 349 which was the upper limits of what I wanted to spend but would if I thought it was worth it in the vein of you only get quality if you pay for it. It says :- highest-performing rifle scope ever. Quote Link to post
paulk73 151
I always use hawke scopes. I have the hawke airman 30 sf. They work well with the add on nv kits, and they are side focus. I find a lot more adjustment is needed for the side focus models when using the add on nv as opposed to the AO models. Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
Bushnell do SF 3-9x40 £215 and 3-9x50 SF £239 legend hd Nikon do a pro staff target erf 3-9x40 AO for £174 this was the one I was going to get for my hw77 then there is the new pro staff 7 3-12x42 SF at £299 think I will get this one. Nikon everytime bud, they are in a class of their own, that nothing for the price can even get near, I have said this before, I have a Nikon prostaff on my deer/fox rifle, my mate has a Shmidt and Bender on his, we have compared clarity at night, there is bugger all difference, quite astonishing, but actually is it when you consider they make arguably the finest camera lenses in the world? 1 Quote Link to post

Completely second Charlie's comment. Other than my sidewinder and Menace, bit big, the Nikon ProStaff's are epically good. Im well up for getting another one actually, but, dont they only have 1/2 MOA adjustments thought? Rather than the 1/4 on 'most' airgun scopes? Meaning they are primarily aimed, no pun intended, at higher velocities at further ranges than 40 yards... Anyway, one for the 99 would be about right. BDC of course Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
Im sure mine is 1/4" bud, I will check when I get home. Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
If your budget for a quality scope runs to better than Hawke Panorama series, then the Hawke Sidewinder series of scopes are a seriously good buy.I have one of these currently mounted on my Daystate Regal .177 and I cannot fault it for the money. But again, I also have a Nikon Fieldmaster 6-18x40 with side-focus and that scope, while not cheap, is a masterpiece of precision and clarity above its price-point.. Im using it on my HW77 .22 spring rifle and it matches the rifle absolutely perfectly. 2 Quote Link to post
VWman 232
I have a New Pro staff 7 2.5-10x50 BDC rifles scope and it's very good in both optical and mechanical quality and it looks good as well (must learn how to put photo's on). 1/4 MOA. I need a second scope but thought it would be good to have IR and side focus. Is it worth missing out on the IR. Quote Link to post
