Sorted em out today lads and lasses.

Bumper crop round here never done it but ill give it a go

We have 5ltrs to drain next month then set some more away,it's been bottled for 3mths end of January I've still got enough in the freezer for another 8ltrs and the ones to drain and set again.

I would have all them weighed out into bags and put in the freezer mate after that I would do 1 a month Do you do a half and half mix of sloes and gin ? Bought a bottle of gordons sloe gin the other day after not finding any sloes the stuff is like benylin lol

Been having a look for some sloes today the blackthorn bushes up here in the north east have got nothing but leaves on them, does anyone know if this has been a poor year for them or what ?

the bushes i usually pick near burnhope have had nothing on for 2 years now. i pass them twice per week so know they haven't been picked early

If I only had have that bush, none around here :cray: really am fond of a nice sip of home made sloe-gin. This is the second year no sloes are on the bushes (only a few around my place)

1 pound of sloes to 1/2 pound caster sugar (dissolves easier) to 1 litre of gin

+1 I've made 3ltrs of it and I've still got 4lb and 2lb of damsons so that me busy this weekend.dont forget to shake it everyday for about a week so the sugar dissolves atb.
