Sas Who Dares Wins

There was a fella on here a year or two back that tried to claim he was a Royal and served in the Falklands. Claimed he was in 33Cdo or some such non existent Commando unit.

Either Socks, Deerman or Stiffy called him on it. LOL

I remember him now, he didn't post after that did he? Even some of the non soldiers who knew their history were able to trip him up if I remember rightly.

I was half way through a book about the conflict at the time if I remember and knew a bit about 3Cdo. So I searched for this phantom commando unit as I was quite surprised/suspicious that I hadn't heard of it. I didn't say owt as it wasn't my place being non military. If I remember he managed to dream up a unit that was never even in existence during WWII when there were dozens of commando units! LOL. Either that or I had to go back as far as that to find it.

The fellas user name has come to me but I'll keep it to myself in case I'm wrong....

And no, he fecked off in a huff after that. LOL

It was Trooperman !

I spent a weekend at Hereford with a good mate who was in 2 para, his pal had gone on to be in charge of B squadron. we both worked as youth workers at the time and he had managed to arrange a weekend down there for a bunch of "bad lads". we stayed on pontrallis ? the training ground and saw the killing house, old jet there for hostage training, cars shot out all over etc . Four of the lads from the squadron had gave up their weekend to help out, they were absolutely spot on. The lads were told to build bashas from rubbish on the site and we kipped in one of the old buildings. a couple of the SAS lads were into shooting and shot 2 deer and some rabbits and showed the kids how to dress them. Took us into Hereford and showed us round their barracks? loads of photos on the walls of the embassy siege etc bits and pieces from Iraq ( one of Saddams guns). Belting blokes and one of the kids joined the Army shortly afterwards because of it.

Good read is right , but what a load of shit he rambled on about

its just a shame that at the time he wasnt asked for his service no ,and full name

because , that could have been traced easley thro the war service records

where every service man, active or retired is listed , and rank

atb

I've got a friend who is has a keen interest in 'special forces' both home and abroad, he says most of what the SAS get credited for is actually carried out by the SBS ? Not sure how true that is given that the SBS would mainly operate in and around water you would think . . He also reckons of all the elite services the maddest of all is the French Foreign Legion, "French"?!? Said I, but apprantly they're made up of mercenaries worldwide.
