roybo 2,873
If I had a pure breed none running dog It's probably a breed I'd go for, especially if I could find the rough arsed type that work the land in oz. But I get the feeling ,having looked on the net most that are over here are show lines ,the stumpy tailed cattle dog looks a slightly racier (tailless) but similar sort 1 Quote Link to post

max_wood 161
A friend of mine works one on cattle here in England.it's quite compact and very protective of him and vehicles ect.doesn't have the gathering instinct like the collies but it will push and drive cattle all day long.it's an animal.you just can't get in the truck when he's in it!! 4 Quote Link to post
fireman 10,914
The cattle dog was bred as a very hard wild cattle driving dog that could cope with harsh conditions,a far cry from a border collies work and the two are not to be classed the same nor the x's.. 1 Quote Link to post
