krawnden 1,036
Anyone used one of these http://www.thebushcraftstore.co.uk/commando-wire-saw-269-p.asp ? Thinking it might be a useful thing to have in your pocket for cutting bits of branch, root etc. Quote Link to post

Jax13 251
Used to use similar things years ago as a kid making dens and ropeswings in the woods. Every single one we ever bought snapped on its first use so we swapped to an old folding pruning saw Quote Link to post
Jax13 251
But admittedly, a decent (fellow or similar) pair of secateurs will go through anything up to an inch or more. Quote Link to post

Yeah, I keep secateurs in the bag, but I don't think they'd go through something as thick as an inch, and certainly not on anything bigger. I liked the look of that wire saw as it's so small and light. Quote Link to post
The one 8,496
Keep a sharp edge on your spade and use It. its a bugger with the vibration threw your hands but you get there if the roots to big dig round it and angle down Quote Link to post

Jax13 251
I suppose you could always tie a couple of loops of paracord through the ends of a length of old chainsaw chain. Quote Link to post
