Commando Wire Saw?

Anyone used one of these http://www.thebushcraftstore.co.uk/commando-wire-saw-269-p.asp ? Thinking it might be a useful thing to have in your pocket for cutting bits of branch, root etc.

Used to use similar things years ago as a kid making dens and ropeswings in the woods.

But admittedly, a decent (fellow or similar) pair of secateurs will go through anything up to an inch or more.

Yeah, I keep secateurs in the bag, but I don't think they'd go through something as thick as an inch, and certainly not on anything bigger. I liked the look of that wire saw as it's so small and light.

Keep a sharp edge on your spade and use It. its a bugger with the vibration threw your hands but you get there if the roots to big dig round it and angle down

You'd be surprised what you can get through with a decent pair of secateurs. We use felcos at work.

I suppose you could always tie a couple of loops of paracord through the ends of a length of old chainsaw chain.
