Jack Russell Kc Registered

KC wont affect the true working dogs at all because those that breed them will know what there looking for in a breeding partner.

in my opinion KC is a good organisation yes it is based mainly about showing dogs but it does do good to try and stop puppy farms and ill treatment of dogs.

Education about looking for a KC assured breeder only helps "non working" dog owners stay away from shady practices

Why? that's total boll*x. Money and working dogs has only caused so much grief in this game and added to the breeding of even more rubbish with lads trying to recoup the €450+ they spent on a Cull wit

There's a old fella on here who was terrier man for a pack for donkey's years who has some of his russell's KC'd(no i'm not saying who but he's openly stated this fact on here before),it hasn't affect

All of them?

Yes but you can't keep in breeding, eventually your get problems, new blood is always needed!!

Not always so..If you have decent mates who will work them you can keep a large (family) And breed to G/parents neices etc you can keep the type many many years..Stuff I had over 45 years ago are like the more recent stuff Ive bred in looks and ability

You're right Donny. If the inbred gene pool is big enough and the breeder knows what he's doing outcrosses shouldn't be needed, unless it's needed for work means not breeding means.

It's reckoned that when the Plott family moved from Germany to America they didn't make an outcross in 60 years. The Plott hound is still in the Plott family today.

The Jack Russell Terrier has been showed and bred on the continent, Ireland and Australia for umpteen years!! I think you are all getting a little confused. This is akin to the short legged dog. However you will see NO bow front legs and luxating patellas!! They are sound dogs of uniform type. The Parson Russell Terrier is more like the working type JRT and their "recognition" has done no harm to either them nor the people who choose to work Russells has it?

Breeders who exploit an opening in the market destroy breeds, NOT the Kennel Club!! They do NOT and NEVER have written breed standards and have only ever changed them to improve what they see as a detriment to the dog. Go blame the people who will stuff them up. GREEDY breeders like those who breed cockerpoos and all the bloody doodles!! They charge frequently in the region of £800.00 per pup. No registration, no pedigree (cos they are mongrels) but "claim" they are better because they are cross breed!! Have to put a nice designer name on them though, cos crossbreed or mongrel just wont cut it!!

The Kennel Club have never ruined dogs, BREEDERS do that!!

Dawn b I think you are missing the point we don't mind bowed legs don't care really how they look we don't want papers which can easily be altered to suit the sale of pups we just want honest working dogs with big arts no papers only shredded perhaps to lay on after a good day

id rather have a mongrel than an inbred dog thats only use is to look good to a bunch of show people. The kc only helps show people and show and peddlers only, for anyone else, its bad news.

this topics quite ironic when the rev Russell himself was a founder of the KC a dog dealer and a profound puppy peddler who set out the breed standard with no mention of work and lets be honest not really a terrier man!

not ALL men aren't interested in the queens head or a 1st in show.

It's down to you as well in what you want the dog for,if you want a worker and go to buy a show winning lined dog then bigger fool you as it goes  ,if you want a working terrier then get one from proven working parents. Not every one is a winner either side of the fence but you have a better chance THINKING about what you want and why first and then choosing the pup of the sort you want as it ain't rocket science  ,but if it fails i supose blaming it on a bod in a office in London rather than "the way it goes" is easier on the ego eh :whistling: ...

maybe your missing the point if looks dont count then a well made terrier shouldnt be sniffed at either. a good dog will come in all shapes and sizes.

this dog was KC. and a young lady took a shine to him. showed him and he qualified for crufts and many other big shows . got CCs and went on to win best of breed at the national. he did all this whilst having working marks. there is some shite on here thats for sure.

killed three foxes to ground in an old beech root hole. i'll never forget the look of awe on the young fella,s face as he carried him home in a rucksack. proud as punch. that young lad tells his tale of helping to dig old trusty out by torchlite to this day.

he dropped to ground at under a year old and was dug out after spending a whole shift below. we thought he was trapped. but he was happily working away when we broke through. that was the day we decided after much deliberation not to tell him of his royal KC blood. lmfao.
