trigger2 3,145
been with sky for 5 years on full package so they have had around £6k off me in this time. had some issues last week, I have never troubled them before, and they wouldnt waiver the visit charge for the engineer. threw a wobbly and canceled my tv package saving around 80quid a month. ......rang a friend, sorted me a box 45quid for 2 years tele. why have I been paying sky so much for so long?!?!?! just naive I guess. well now I have seen the light and will be slightly richer for it. I would recomend to anyone on sky! What box you using mate? I'm paying sky £115 a month now all in and seriously considering f***ing it off. feck me gaz thats a lot of money. i pay £33 a month and dont have movies or sports for that. Just checked and it was £126 this month. Lol. That's for everything, movies, sports, kids packages, box nation etc. Plus there is probably a PPV fight in with that £126. But definitely too much. I am considering one of these boxes after reading a few of the posts on this thread. It would just piss the missus off if it kept freezing up or wasn't working one night. I work nights and she watches a LOT of TV. It's her only hobby, lol. i fecking moan at £33 a month thats only because ive just started as a new costomer again due to moving into this house or mine would be dearer. looks like i will going for one these boxes being talked about on here when my contract is up in feb. ryaldinhio 4,683
I paid 250 for my box but its dual reciever recorder with 1tb memory and supposedly one of the best about at the min, I suppose time will tell on that. Paid 45 quid for 2 years all sky sports, movies, box office the lot. plus through an app on the box can stream latest movies that are at cinemas n that. You can get a lot cheaper boxes but my mate who is well into it all recommended the box to me and said itd be worth it. I was paying similar to you gaz so itll be covered in a couple of months then. 22 months free really!
dytkos 17,806
Do people watch less tv now days even though theres more channels to watch? Most of its shit and i guess the internet changed things. No longer have to watch what is on the tele watch exactly what you want when you want. Tv is so bad that these days id actually rather read a good book...getting more n more like my old man lol worrying thought. I'm on lates this week, haven't seen telly since Sunday and won't do again till Sat evening, then it will probably be football, should have saved my 50p a month lol Cheers, D.

It does seem a lot. But then when you think you pay £120 to have your bin collected twice it doesn't seem so bad ?
paulus 26
whats with the need to record ?? if you stream you can watch anything when you like without the need to record anything, if your worried about buffering (not an issue in reality) then you can download to a memory stick or the hd on the box, but remember if you download something you may be breaking the law, if you stream it then its all legit.
