philpot 5,005
I am new to the site and would be interested in your views on the Brocock air rifles, I know the new Compato is not in the shops yet although the write ups sound good. In truth I have never seen one but was interested in them after seeing Si Pittaway and Davey reviewing one on Vermin Hunters TV and like the idea of a Bullpup style of gun. I would REALLY like the FX Wildcat but at almost twice the price of a Brocock, my pension has to be spent with care My first thought is a bullpup for ratting in confined areas and would appreciate any feed back chaps. Rez 4,961
Your pension?! I like it welcome. Firstly, I think there superb. Not due to the review your referencing, they just are. You have to understand that any rifle the VH chaps review will always come across as top notch as they proper shots to be honest. They'll make a 400 quid PCP looks like a tack driver. Which the one I mean, probably is. Brocock is now kinda highly influenced by Mr tony booolasssss or whatever his name is. So you'll notice there's a slight DS look occurring in the new models, as well as the indexing systems. I personally would opt for the Supersix Elite. I called about one years ago only to find there wasn't going to be a lefty model. And now there is. Shame. Quote Link to post
philpot 5,005
I know what you mean regarding the boys making anything look good, they did with the Rotex RM8, I have one and it will be going SOOOOOON. The new models will all have a larger magazine and shot count, I believe but whatever, I want to try one out if I get the chance. Thanks for the input Rez Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,558
Hello Phil, welcome. Ditto to Rez, he is correct. I bought the Brocock concept (super six) and soon found out that as accurate as this rifle is,- it is only worth 28 truly accurate shots. I took it to my ranges, watched Si Pitterways reviews and Si was bang on,- fill above 180 bar the Brocock is erratic, once she is at 180 bar pressure she is "perfect" for 28 shots only ! After that she will slowly become erratic again. . Don`t get me wrong Phil, if you fill the Brocock to 180 bar only and shoot from there on in, then boy is that rifle with the big names for 28 shots. Hunting wise, 28 shots should be more than enough for any one session by a country mile and a Brocock is one lethally accurate rifle under these guidlines. Phil have a butchers at BSA Ultra SE, or HW 100 in any format that suits you best. Good luck with your choices . Edited October 15, 2015 by mark williams 1 Quote Link to post

mark williams 7,558
Before i joined THL mate, had it one day and my gunsmith mate, Steve allowed me to return it at no charge and i bought the HW 100 ks from him. Both were in .22 cal and neither achieved what i was looking for. Had i bought them in .177 cal then yes they would easily have achieved my expectations . atb. philpot 5,005
Being new my posts are checked before they show so I may be going out of sequence but I hope not. To be very honest, I have been looking at the HW100KT and really like it, great feel, not fired one but from what everyone says, I take it as read that they are as good as I am lead to believe and Ohhhh the new laminated stock............ The reason for the Brocock was simple, if I spend £700-900, do I want to get it bashed crawling around a farm yard after rats, I thought a cheaper composite stock gun but a good gun would perhaps suit the bill just about right. Whatever I buy for the job, there will be an HW100KT amongst my guns at sooner or later......for sure. Phil Quote Link to post
Rez 4,961
Fair enough mark. Pure field rifle I think... After all, you can't even go round the HFT course with one, but you can't carry by hand 28 rabbits either... Proper lookers though. 1 Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,558
Sorry guys, i had the Brocock Concept super six but the description stands. Very good rifles indeed but i would save some more Phil and get the HW 100 kt (.177) . Once you`ve owned a Ferrari you would not want a Ford again. atb Edited October 15, 2015 by mark williams Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
Now for someone who is not normally a fan of bullpup style rifles, I rather like that, I might even consider investing in one when they hit the shops :hmm:do you have a link to the review please? Quote Link to post
philpot 5,005
I saw a review in one of the air gun magazines and there is also a brief intro on you tube As much as I am deffo going to have a HW100KT in .177, I do think the Brocock Compatto in .22 will make a cracking LITTLE ratter. There is no mistaking though, .177 is defo my preferred calibre these days, wether i use springer (T Rex 200 hc mk3) or my Lethal HW 100 kt . Please try your new Raider in .177 before you commit your money Mac, the rifle obviously suits you well, so might the "fast and furious .177" Only nudging you in the right direction mate, atb P.S.
