Leeview 791
Ferrets are hardy. Drafts can be a problem. I'd agree with the guys that say a warrens warmer in winter and cooler in summer compared to above ground. he dropped the ferret in the water A cold soaking then a bit of cold wind may have caused it to loose too much heat. But generally seems strange. so where exactly does this warmth in winter and cooler in summer come from when its cold in winter and warm if not hotter in summer? Y.I.S Leeview Let it go mate lol. Type in Google Exhaustive Hypothermia in animals causing the animals organs close down due to a drop in body temperature, basically an animal body cant replace the heat Y.I.S Leeview Quote Link to post
smithie 2,443
a boss at work does some thing under ground with explosives as a hobbie. basically he tries to make a route under ground from 1 valley to another. he tells me after a few foot down the temp remains constant all year round and only the top/crust will freeze. I forget the temp 1 Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Next time it's frosty, take your gloves off and stick one hand down a rabbit hole, and leave one out in the open air. I think I already know which one is going to freeze off first. How long should I do it for Until you get bored. Quote Link to post
OneManAndHisDog 513
Went out yesterday to go feed and clean the ferrets out and one off my young Hobs was dead don't know how it died couldn't of been from cold because he had enough bedding and his brother in there with him so unless they've had a fight or something I don't know, he was only 5 and a half month old ?
