Was up on the Fells a couple of weeks ago with three of my dogs and had been walking through neck deep bracken & knee high heather for over three hours when my buddy spotted this as I nearly stepped on it lol..my little Pom must of only been inches off it but I think with it being early morning it was still rather docile thankfully..and yep that was my day curtailed it was back to the trodden paths for me haha..I'm not sure if it's a male or female Adder but it was definitely well fed lol...

Great :-) looks like a female, they are much browner in colour.

My dog got bit once after stuffing his face into one. Whole head swelled up, rushed to vet for a jag and a few days recovering all was well.

Vet told me to have some anti histamine tabs on me to give if in adder country.

Great pic :-)
