neil cooney 10,416
All this talk of shovels when the real secret is the man behind it. Some lads would shift more with a teaspoon than others would with a JCB. 5 Quote Link to post

pablo esc 1,598
I bought a new long, lighter round mouth with a fibreglass shaft, just before the season started. Wasnt too good though when i first was out, in a field and small stones and small rocks. Took it out other week again, first place was a further walk, dog got a bolt, some gang been there before me. Went to another one and had to get it out the moter, and it was allright on that one as easier to reach and scoop and lighter, only cost less than 20 euros. Need to get a strong steel, longish one though or buy A roun Mouth piece and get a welded piece!? Bit late for looking though? Quote Link to post

neil cooney 10,416
Yes, anyone that's at it more than a few years will have their favourite. My favourite is getting fixed at the minute and feck do I miss it. I had a hard one on Sunday and nearly cried for my favourite graft and shovel. There's 1000s out there like them and some lads might think they're pieces of crap (they wont be when Jim gives them back to me though) but the graft cost me nearly a weeks wages when I was 15 and the shovel was given to me by Glyn (Pickaxe) when I was over with him. It became my favourite after it's very first dig. Not because of how handy it is but because of the dig. I miss them bad. A good shovel with a set of lugs on it helped by a good pair of Fell Boots combined with a terrier that will stay and that's me happy. Two out of those three aint good enough, LOL. Quote Link to post
pablo esc 1,598
Got a good shovel off my mate wolfy off here, gave it me, About 8 years back ,cheers for that pal. He doesn't have them no more, i think mine is a b + f, done the honours, and plenty of power. One terrier man though had it in his hands on a dig to a dog i had about 7 years ago and was saying, i don't think much of, ( wots his name, spades). I looked at him and thought, nothingup wwith it, and are you putting a dampner on it. Anyway, little dog was stuck into the fox when broke through as the fox charge. Next thing the guy clipped the terrier downwards, clumsy or just a dirt , c, unt, shame, horrible man. Quote Link to post
