Someone can and probably will correct me here but I'm almost certain somewhere in his book he tells of a young dog whose name I can't remember as its been over twenty years at least since I read it but he takes it out lamping if I'm correct in thinking catching two rabbits and pronounces it as a proven worker and therefore good enough to go to stud..if I get time this evening I will have a trawl through it and see if I can photograph what he said to post it on here..then you wonder why I ain't read it EVER again ffs..a mans got to make a living fair enough and if the public are so hoodwinked into thinking he is the only breeder of collie lurchers then like Bob said you can only blame those that travel,pay and go home with a sapling off him..he must of made hundreds of thousands if not more of what in reality are substandard animals,just wish I'd had the mindset to do it haha

The end of the days its a glorified puppy farm im a believer in worker to worker and only then can you be certain ive saw a couple decent dogs come out of his kennels but I think alot of the better dogs have actually been bred away from the originalsand xd out

Don dog is here matey,not hardly an inkling of Greyhound blood in him lol..he's still going great guns,one eye,had a broken leg but he keeps rolling on..if it hops it drops,if it walks it don't for much longer and if it runs or is prepared to stand its ground he will grass it lol..my fav dog he is,be a sad day when I retire the dog but until then we march on each & every day

 

 

Your dog is of similar build to my collie saturated dog Dan which i bred out of my old bitch Gwen, to Torchies reverse threequarter Dan, i have a preference for collie saturated type dogs over the collie greyhound types you see nowadays that are in my eyes collie marked greyhounds. regards collie john.

If my aging mind serves me correctly was it not Brian Plummer that came up with the idea that Hancock start a collie Lurcher puppy farm ?

In a book that i consumed many years ago it said that Mr plummer turned up to the Hancock farm with 3 greyhound bitches to start the famous kennel

I had a "second hand one" about 12 years back and she was pretty handy on all edible stuff, and loved RUNNING foxes, killed a few but ran loads to ground (ideal for me but not everyone)

IDint Plummer hunt his ratting terriers on his poultry farm and when it went tits up his poultry farm Plummer came up with the idea to turn it into a puppy farm.
