FUJI 17,216
I've personally never owned a Hancock bred dog but have seen a fair quota at work, one or two were mustard on foxes but their overall work ethic was poor to say the least, they had little intention of putting in a hard shift on the lamp BUT in defence of those dogs I will say the ones I did see only one was with its original owner from puppyhood, all the others were off the dog merry-go-round,now I'm not saying they were passed on because of their poor desire to work as I honestly don't know if that was the case but mentally for those dogs it can't of been good and more so a collie hybrid..I do know some good honest lads whose word I take as gospel and they have owned or do own Hancock dogs and say they are/were superb at their job.. I guess you pays your money and takes your chance, they certainly ain't for me,I'd never line the pockets of a puppy peddlar, its not rocket science to see Hancock is all about the money..he has NO INTEREST at all in adding and preserving good honest working lines of Collie x's..anyone wanting to breed a Collie x should in my opinion go seek out a good quality, well bred Greyhound and go begging to Borderscot if there's a chance you could use his Lolo dog ..that dog has the lot!! I think he's 5/8 Collie x 3/8 Grey.. 8 Quote Link to post

TOMO 26,073
This was out of the old Richard Jones ie 20 years agohe was prob one of his best studs there,he was 1/4 bearded 1/4 border 1./2 greyhound ,my colliex grey blaze was 1/2 hancock bred richard jones x 1/4 collie 3/4 grey from north wales so blaze was 3/8 collie 5/8grey good on foxes ok on rabbits,he been on here before big black/white 27in dog, this was in the mid 80s r/j was good collie x grey, but dont think any of studs are as good as what he was, think he was used few times lamping , but that was as said years ago when done a bit with them,Richard jones was a half beardie half border , there was no greyhound in him Correct,,,,taffy is the one with grey in him I had one out of taffy to a grey bitch,,,,died at a year old,,,was just starting to catch,,this was nearly 30 year ago Quote Link to post
