And 3 out of that 4,,, hardly caught a rabbit,,,they just won't connect with a live running rabbit.. Quote Link to post

dodger 2,754
I had a son of a Hancock dog once and it was one of the best dogs Iv ever had loved him.. Quote Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
That's the thing.... 'I want a genuine half cross, then I know what I'm getting'....except you don't as the parents have not been worked, ergo, you have no idea of what you're going to get. I've seen a few and only one was decent enough on foxes. Allegedly. I've seen them yap like a bloodhound and I also know that some have a wide array of medical issues too. Get a worker to worker bred pup over a hancock, it will cost you a hell of alot less in the long run. And, besides, why support puppy peddling anyway? The original OP asked how many make the grade; well that depends on the owner doesn't it. If the man holding the dog doesn't do anything then they'll all make the grade. 11 Quote Link to post
Jackboy2011 16
My brother in law got a pup 1/2 cross dog. Rabbit, foxes, big ears on lamp, jump, retrieve. That was just working. The best guard dog I've ever seen. My opinion the owner makes the dog. Not mr Hancock. 3 Quote Link to post

This debate regarding this cross will rage on for ever but in my opine if you can find a lad breeding good working dogs who is looking to keep a pup for him self or wants to breed for other purposes other than financial gain then you will have a honest working pup and avoid puppy pedlars atb Edited October 12, 2015 by bonehead 2 Quote Link to post
