CushtyJook 1,097
Out on a mooch this afternoon and came across a young roe doe carcass partially eaten had been shot in the neck as seen an entrance wond and a exit wond just left there in the grass and could see flattened grass where other animals had been eating it looked like it had been dead no older than a few days have also thought something was up for a few days know as normally see lots of deer and lots of hares but recently only been Seing very few I think the estate are shooting them but why just leave them wasted in the fields
CushtyJook 1,097
Wouldn't of thought it is poachers as very hard to access unless walking through farmyards I just called into the farmers place to see if he knew anything and he told me they do stalk but wouldn't of left it standing so he's going to tell the keeper to see if he's left it for fox bait or something other than that he said good job for mentioning it to us and keep an eye out only just got this perms ion and there Probally already thinking it was me lol but they know I only mooch with a cattypult

jonnie bravo 572
Look forward to seeing what comes back from this. My first reaction would have been a crap shot from one of the estate guns but seen as you have ruled that out it could well be poachers. Definitely neck shot??
CushtyJook 1,097
After a very quick sweep around with Bill the keeper and the underkeeper Steve very nice genuine lads who Assured I could do a lot more with them around the shoot bill only shot a fox shot and no deer poachers alough I know it's early and Probally need to go out later but the underkeeper Steve mentioned he noticed deer numbers had been really high last month and suddenly dropped but assures me the hares are still in big numbers as we counted 74 in not very large area we covered at all both keepers do not think it has been killed by poachers but have taken the carcass away after I showed them where it was for a better examination in the morning but apparanty estate here takes deer management very seriously
