Due to the amount of lads giving of about it either i was doing to big myself up or i was just wrong for putting pictures up of legal dog work. I didnt mindsharing my days out with use you lads on here but all i seem to get from people is yhat i am going to be the down fall of hunting foxes in northern ireland . Seems that most of the problem is other hunters hiding in the dark an scared to talk about legal hunting half of the news reports in northen ireland was down to so called hunting men talking to papers back stabbing each other . Its a sad state when some one cant post pictures of a legal quarry .

its a bit of a poor do when you feel the need to have your own legal posts taken down because of the shit you get of others who are suppose to be sharing the same passion of working lurchers.

You keep doing what your doing trunk! Who cares what people think, your not braking the law it's all legal where you are, happy hunting

Trunk, no one complained about your posts on here, in fact most lads said they enjoyed them, myself included. The first comment that was made was about a video you have up on FaceBook. Regarding "Big

It's the working lurcher write up section, you legally work fox with your lurchers, so what's the problem??

You just have to sensible that's all.......but ones thing for sure, we wouldn't be having this conversation if you were showing pictures of dozens of foxes you had shot with a rifle, would we?

As usual dog men have to constantly defend what they do, even amongst their own & when within the law........that said, silly photos won't do any of you lads any favours, I don't do Facebook, so I can't comment on that stuff......but on here common sense should prevail if you can......

Atb with the rest of your season.

Regarding "Bigging yourself up" ?

I used that term first. What I said was that you don't need to big yourself up as it's obvious you're out every chance you get with your dogs. Fair play to you.

Regarding using lurchers being used in Northern Ireland ?

Whether you like it or not you are hanging on to it up there by a thread. There seems to always be some politician at any time in the North with an anti hunting agenda. N.I. is now the only quarter of the U.K. that has no restrictions on using dogs to kill foxes.

Two years ago it was decided in the North to use the police to intimidate terriermen, not the USPCA. That's worrying. It got many lads out of the game.

There's even been bull cross pups confiscated in the past because one side of the breeding was a banned breed as the pit bull is banned in the North.

Up there you's have working for the USPCA Stephen Phillpott and although everyone knows he uses lies and bullyboy tactics as well as the media ( a lot) he is very effective at his job.

A few years ago he caused the slaughter of 100s of healthy dog in the North in his hunt for pit bulls. Some of the dogs killed were pet staffies.

The last thing IMO that the North of Ireland needs is more ammunition to be used against hunting and a lot of the shite that's going on on FB is doing us no favours whatsoever.

Not just in N.I. but everywhere.

Anyone who thinks that hunting is 100% safe is a fool and believe me I think in the next few years in the North you'll see restrictions brought in. There's way to many in power who want it gone and that includes some parties who are just waiting for the right timing.

I hope I'm wrong.

Trunk, you only have to look at the great condition you boys have on your dogs to know ye are not cruel lads but videos etc. can often give the wrong impression.

JMHO again, but a lad who does a lot of hunting knows what a lurcher catching and killing a fox looks like, it's the same with terriers and hounds, so to a lad who sees it regularly it's no big deal.

There's two type of people who enjoy them though. Anti's and wannabees. These to me are not worth it.

I think it would be a real shame for you to not post your photos and days out. . . . and I think you've been very good, in only posting suitable photos. It makes good reading, and its nice to actually have some hunting posts.

However, I can see what some of the people were getting at, rightly or wrongly. Some may be jealous, however, unfortunately the internet is a double edged sword. The photos you post on here are fine, however, many people do post some daft stuff on face book. . . .. . not everyone needs to see a photo of a dog screwing a fox with blood everywhere. To the average person, whether they support hunting or not, it would be horrifying in some ways. I know my mum and mrs wouldn't like it. . . . . and both don't mind hunting at all.

Its very easy for those kinds of photos to be used against us.

So as long as its just man with fox and dog, and everything is humane and kosher its fine. . . . but unfortunately as good as they can be. . . .action shots are probably a no no.

I hunt foxes by day with hound crosses and lurchers and lamp them too but I don't believe in putting pics up for literally the world to see,my and my friends days and nights out are our own business and pics put up on line will ultimately be used against the sport.in my expeirience its dopey young fellas who feel the need to show off to the world.back in the day everything was normally learnt through expeirience not by Internet experts teachings.the way it's going the attention seekers who claim to support hunting will be the ones to end it because they can't keep anything in a normal situation, they must tell the world or it doesn't count.
