neil82 1,080
get it blued properly, AA blueing is not the best, apart from that keep it as dry as you can, wipe it over often and never use WD40 on it (except as a first treatment after a session shooting in the rain) wipe it over with a cloth soaked in something like the old style 3 in 1 oil or even a bit of old gear box oil, and the rust spot you have rub it hard with a bit of decent oil on the end of your finger, if that does not reduce or get rid of it use the finest wire wool or an old scouring pad with oil to reduce it 1 Quote Link to post
tomburras 2,730
Tinfoil and wd40 is good if you get rust spots too. Also if you get blood on it wipe off it straight away - that has caused rust spots too. Quote Link to post

Durham John 693
Get some Corrosionx Its fishing reel oil will stop the rust and preserve the finish on the rest of the barrel and cylinder. As been said A/A blueing ain't the deepest so needs a bit if TLC. Quote Link to post
