krawnden 1,036
Working or not will soon be irrelevant as all dogs will have to be chipped by law. Not sure when it comes into force - maybe it's already happened? If not, it'll be happening soon. 1 Quote Link to post

nottzhunter08 898
Heard the same Andrew, I suppose its why all the free micro chippings have been happening recently ? Quote Link to post
desertbred 5,490
April next year all dogs will need to be micro chipped to comply with the law. The police will scan your dog if you are stopped and if its not chipped a fixed penalty if you are working it may be another excuse to impound your dog not having the chip. gnipper 6,475
Does it legally have to be in your own name? Quote Link to post
chook1 184
Its not about making money, its about trying to reduce the stray population, what happens if your dog gets stolen and moved out of the area, least with a chip you have a chance to get the dog back if it turns up as a stray etc. 2 Quote Link to post

MickC 1,825
The chipping is free now , watch the price of it rocket once it becomes compulsory. As a kid used to see strays running on every street, never see them running about round here now 1 Quote Link to post
