'Homo sapien' refers to the skeleton not species,there is no hard rule to decipher between race and species unfortunately. But what difference does it make? There are so many differences across the globe. I didn't want to wade into this emotional debate, on an otherwise harmless issue, but I would have to agree with you. Taxonomy, on this level at least, seems very subjective. My non-expert opinion is that, for the human case politics has too much of an influence. To start using the terms sub-species and hybrids etc in relation to the human species would cause a lot of people headaches so it's just avoided. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
