paulus 26
your never going to change the future by emulating the past, times have changed and the way things are done have changed, a publicity campaign will do far more good than arguing over who has seats on a committee. a group just needs like minded individuals with a common goal , not people arguing endlessly over trivial things on some committee or other. Giro 2,648
We don't plan to emulate the past mate.. Before we lead a charge,we'll make sure we have a strong force behind us.. This is just a starting point.. Things with media productions are being weighed up and discussed. . Thank you for your input.. Edited October 27, 2015 by Giro 1 Link to post
desertbred 5,490
Has LAGBI had any recent contact from Alan Tyer re the meeting between the two associations LAGBI and AWLL ? Isnt he supposed to be available after the 26th of October? All this peacock posturing and blowing ones trumpet isnt moving anything on one iota. is it. 1 Link to post
Giro 2,648
With due respect DD we are moving along and gathering momentum & some very keen intrest. We have had lots of very kind & generous offers of physical & financial help. Nobody is here to blow trumpets or posture like a peacock.. We are here to give the lurcher owners, the representation people asked for. 1 Link to post
desertbred 5,490
Lagbi from reports seem to also have mustered a large amount of support . Was the proposed meeting between Alan Tyer and LAGBI supposed to be a stepping stone towards progress or has this now been removed from AWLL agenda as LAGBI steering group informed they still consider it part of the way forward. dodger 2,754
This things been plodding along for the last 20 years now with no results hasn't it, well now from here on in if it's now suddenly going to change things for the better it's time for fingers out n after burners on if you want results otherwise it's just guna make us an annoyance with another 20 years of the same plodding on in the background plus that's 20 years we more than likely don't have, this will be a last ditch attempt so gota get it right and a new direction shame it's taken so long really but suppose as they say better late than never "hopefully"., also as Iv said before I wouldn't keep harping on about the forley cup and hare coursing either hare coursers are almost public enemy number one now were as "I'm just off for abit of rabbiting" etc is still excepted by most as a normal countryside pursuit, it's to late for hare coursing now IMO we had our chance n now that boat has sailed best to concentrate on preserving what we have left for now and then see what happens IMO, also like I said a few pages back get back onto the c a and see about what discounts for bulk/club memberships they can offer etc.. nothernlite 18,080
Do youse really think your going yo change the law? Link to post
Giro 2,648
That's for the politicians.. We can work towards lobbying them, gaining better public awareness & protecting lurcher work. The ban was brought in .. It can be over turned .. If that's not going to happen we need to make a strong case for these amendments. The AWL will work towards this. We won't just roll up to game fairs and sit in a tent.. We will be getting about .. Networking with the right people. 3 Link to post

desertbred 5,490
To change Government policy or change Governments takes millions. To change public perception and educate regards working dogs takes only a few with good intentions and the right ideas and support the old ways have been tried and didnt achieve what was needed .Now support Lagbi they appear to be a new force to change public perception and awareness regarding lurchers and their owners.. 3 Link to post

sandymere 8,263
the meeting with Tim Bonner and the steering group went well they felt, were minutes taken of the meeting? What did Tim Bonner actually offer the lagbi? that is not being revealed yet? Y.I.S Leeview Hadn’t Trenchfoot answered that pages back? Oh well it would take a while to find it for you so here’s a quote of the report sent to members of the steering group from him after the meeting. “The meeting went very well. Tim was very responsive about the need to be seen to be doing more in support of lurchers (working and otherwise). He also admitted that LAGBI denouncing all the illegal, bad practice carried out by certain lurcher owners was also much needed and to by applauded. As such, they are more than willing to have an article, which he has invited Penny to write on any thing she see's fit, to go in the CA quarterly magazine for its paid up members. He will also look to spread the word out to the general press, in hunting friendly areas, talking about legal aspects of lurcher work etc. This he would also look to extend to some of the shooting press, such as the shooting times so as to reach out to land owners, shooters and keepers etc. Tim see's the role of the CA as a conduit for sharing and managing the supply of information between its members, the powers that be and the media/general public. As such any website of LAGBI, could act as a portal for the CA to share good practice/ news to and from the lurcher community. A link then could be set up between "our" website and theirs.” I do struggle with these continued claims of cloak and dagger stuff you seem so pre occupied with leview lol. Link to post
