J Darcy 5,871
Fantastic pics Kay, especially so with him being a wild red. Most of the rutting pics are of park deer. So well done. he's an amazing beast for sure!

So well done. he's an amazing beast for sure! He has kept me on the run for weeks this one..lol very little calling until the weather cooled down so its been hard to find him.. I managed a quick glimpse of him last week which was lucky... I think this is the biggest stag I have photographed so far .. Quite a treat being able to watch him... He isn't even sending off the couple of smaller stags there no real match for him
J Darcy 5,871
Take a little squeezy bottle of talc with you and squirt it in the air to see which way the wind is blowing. I get close to deer using that method alot. He is a proper big stag, I should imagine there'll be a few stalkers after his headgear if they could get him.....

He can move a lot quicker than me and he was lower down than me which ment I could keep an eye on where he was.. Lol....
neil cooney 10,416
If I've counted correctly he looks like a 16 pointer and a matching pair too. He's a very fine animal.

Kay 3,709
I was able to get about a couple of hundred yards from them once they had gone over a draining ditch .. But I didn't want to get to close to them .. I basically used the zoom on this camera
