Mudcat 95
Pinava and I got together for a couple of days of chuck digging and we had a blast. I got hooked up with Pinava through this board and he is a super nice guy and was a great help to us at the digs. This was his first real digging outing, so I hope we made a good impression on him. We dug 3 chucks and a possum and dug some dogs that were a little to big for chucks. He got to see some Patterdales work as well as my little den terrier. Below is a pic of Glitter my best den terrier, after she had bottled up a chuck. Pinava was introduced to Mr. Backfill and he handled the job with a smile! Best regards, Mudcat 12 Quote Link to post

Mudcat 95
Sometimes they will chuck on down to about 10' in our most complex area of earths. I like the 2 and 3 footers! Averaging all of our digs together, we would average about 3 1/2 to 4 feet deep. Mudcat 2 Quote Link to post

tinytiger 826
whats a den terrier? Quote Link to post
Mudcat 95
It's a small terrier used on woodchuck, possum and coon here in the states. They also use them in the eastern states on grey fox in the mountain area. They range from 7 to 15lbs and have a varied working style. They are a handy size for groundhogs! They have a little bit of this and that in their blood. Mudcat Quote Link to post
