Haven't got a bushing dog yet, but the lurchers don't do too bad a job. Especially when I'm out with my mate and his 3. We have 5 dogs spread out hunting up the reed beds etc. It's good crack and doesn't matter so much if you can't get out lamping as often. I do still like a shine. But it's not the end of the world if I don't get out. We do our version of 'bushing' 2/3 mornings a week. Give it 2/3 hours each time, and the dogs are soon fit and it gives them an all round mental and physical work out. Not to mention being good hunting and good fun. In the proper winter, those trips tend to lengthen. Couple that with 2/3 nights lamping a week, even if its just a quick hour and a couple of runs, and you soon have happy dogs. 2 Quote Link to post
