Ginger Cock Even Fighting Hens

Recommended Posts

If you can try pening them next to each other for acouple of days so they can see each other through the mesh then trim the cocks Spurs back( if he has any ) and round them off. Seen plenty of cocks fight a hen when first introduced and asking as the hen gives in to him it normaly settles down in a couple days

Some will. They usually settle down after a while though. Have you the heels cut on him to stop him damaging them ?

it was using its beak it had it cornered hen was about done for and it just kept at it until i stopped it

OK, he was showing her who's boss. If he wanted to beat her he'd have been using his legs. She submitted, and it looked worse than it was.

They should get on, after a while. They're the opposite to people, LOL.

it cant get much worse hen has a broken leg so the only time theyl get on is in the after life wich is where they are both at now ive tryed previously introducing by letting that cock see hens in pen next to him it had simular results

My mate keeps gingers and he says they only get on if they are all out the same brood and not been slit from birth,he says if you split them and reintroduce them there's hell on.he says that's why he will never split them from chicks again because the damage it causes.

Then he wasn't just using his beak to bully her, they were fighting full on. That's gamefowl for you.

I presume you've culled her but if she was worth breeding from you probably could have fixed that leg with a splint.

Next Spring if you'd put him in with her he probably would have threaded her and you could have took him away then and do that every day.
