Never to old for taking on advise.as said first time feeding raw and wanting to get it right for the pup.

If they are white and hard then he is getting possibly too much bone. I don't mind white and hard bullets every so often, but not all the time. Adding more minced raw veg adds fibre and can soften the

am only joking mate

My pup is 16 weeks old now and is eating well. I haven't had a dog on raw before now and he seems to be thriving on it.

My question is: Are his shits supposed to be hard? I mean like uranium rods. He doesn't have any problem doing them and he sure isn't constipated.

I just wondered if they were supposed to be like that or I need to change or add something to his diet.

Thanks.

what do you normally feed ?

Chciken mince, sardines, tomatoes, brown bread, grated fruit and veg. (Not all at the same time obviously)

Other dog has been on dried food since before we got her.

Sounds good. Chuck some offal in occasionally. Packed with various vitamins and minerals and also a good stool softener.

Do you feed bones such as chicken carcass or lamb ribs? I usually accompany such meals with a pound of red mince which contains lots of offal. I find it balances out with the bone to produce a decent stool.

Yeah, tried some green tripe. The smell got the whole house yacking.

The both have ribs as often as I can give them.

Yeh my missus and littleun both moan about the smell of green tripe. I work nights so defrost it on the kitchen cupboard while I'm sleeping. You can imagine the smell come evening, especially when it's been a warm day ???

Get a nutribullet, spot on for adding veg, fruit and have a milne for bread and porridge oats.Brilliant for us to. Sometimes my pup will pick bits out or leave them. With these it just blends in with food.

Lol. Where do you get some of this info?

If there was anything beneficial in an egg shell that my dogs don't get already in much greater proportions then they would be in the bowls mate and not in the ferret hutch.
