I have got misen 4 all born this year. I will be trying them all over this winter. If I already had some workers I may have waited longer but I have only just set misen back up so they will all be tried.

How old are yous now?

The older pair are about 5 months the other pair about 4 months. I have already had the older pair following a friends worker hob through a small warren and they were poping up at different holes so they are moving around under there. Guess I wont be able to judge them as 'workers' until they go down on their own. Im hoping they all make good workers but we shall see. Im on a learning curve myself.

She play about most the time she was out, then just wanted to go around on the surface and not go down the hole, what can I do with her?

Do you feed them rabbit? I was told by a fella at work to feed dry thru summer coz of the flies then winter time feed em raw rabbit wi fur n lot as their main food source then dont give em any for a day or two before hunting and they will be chomping at the bit. He also said its a fine line between hungry to hunt and hungry to kill and eat and stay down but thatll come with trial and error I guess.

If you don't feed them for two days (or even one for that matter) before you take them out they certainly will be chomping at the bit and they certainly will eat their fill and lie up if they get the chance. I'm not a fan of working ferrets when they're hungry - if they kill I want them to move on fairly quickly and there's no way that's gonna happen if they're hungry.

You've been given some crap advice there, no need to starve ferrets before working them, in fact if you do they wont have the energy for a days work. Ferrets like to chase and kill rabbits regardless of how hungry they are.

How can I get my jill to stop play?

find a warren with rabbits in, the penny will eventually drop with just about any ferret. You don't train a ferret to hunt rabbits, you just put them in a situation where instinct can take over ;) it will soon learn that chasing rabbits is more fun than dicking about lol
