If I was working a little Jill I can under stand ... I new if that hob get hold of one there anit no kicking him off.. He would kill it in no time ... Which he did .. 10 mins down a hole no bolts ...gives me time to no that's he's on a rabbit...weather that be a stop end or kill he wouldn't be getting the run around or kicked off..

I could of waited 30mins let him work ... I would of had no digs 1 bolt ... But 3 dead rabbits left down a hole to rot...atb

The burrows I have to do are very dirty and the ferret is used like a terrier sometimes.I put him in the cover and follow the sound of the bell and as soon as I cant hear the bell its follow him with the locator. Some burrows I have to use the locator straight away and follow him. As soon as he stops Ive to burst through a load of blackberry bush to get on top of him to get my dig. Hes killing them that quick that If Im not quick enough to get on top of him and start digging hes of onto his next rabbit and yes a half dug hole would be left while I chase after him again and get a mark and start digging again. If the dig is shallow enough to get to the ferret and take him out well and good.If he moves again I fallow him untill I have him back on top. I just back track and finish digging sometimes 2 maybe 3 holes to get a dead rabbit each time, sometimes there would be more than 1 dead rabbit when I dig down. So sometimes I have to move quicker than most with the locator. It might seem a bit soon to others but certain situations would dictate it to me. Some rabbits do bolt and the dogs get some of them. The cover is mental all year round.Sometime I would love some lovely open ground burrow and get loads of love bolts for the dogs. The only land I have to hunt is dirty ditches and cover everywhere
